HARD WATER STAIN REMOVAL
Hard Water Stain Removal & Glass Restoration in Bend, OR
Mineral deposits from sprinklers and hard water build up fast on Bend glass. We assess, restore what can be restored, and tell you honestly when it can’t.
How Restoration Works
Not all hard water buildup is the same. We assess your windows on-site before quoting anything, and put them into one of two categories.
- Light to moderate buildup can usually be restored to a clear finish with a dedicated mineral-removal process, separate from standard window cleaning.
- Etched glass, where minerals have permanently damaged the surface, cannot be restored. We tell you honestly which category your windows fall into instead of charging to “fix” something that can’t be fixed.

Why Bend Glass Gets Hard Water Spots
Water drying on the glass, usually from sprinklers or irrigation overspray, is the most common cause. The longer the minerals sit in Bend’s strong high-desert sun, the more they bond to the surface and the harder they are to remove, which is why catching buildup early matters.
How Pricing Works
Hard water and mineral buildup are quoted as a separate line item from standard cleaning, because severity varies enormously from window to window. We assess in person before finalizing pricing. Call us to describe what you’re seeing.
Signs You’re Dealing With Mineral Buildup
- White, chalky spots or film that come right back after a normal cleaning
- Spots concentrated on lower panes, or on the side of the house a sprinkler reaches
- Glass that looks cloudy even when it’s dry and freshly wiped
- A rough, gritty feel when you run a finger across the surface
Etched glass is different: it stays hazy or pitted even after the deposits are gone. That damage is in the glass itself and can’t be reversed, which is why we assess before quoting anything.
Keeping It From Coming Back
- Adjust sprinkler heads so the spray stops short of the glass. For most Bend homes this is the single biggest fix.
- Water early in the morning or in the evening, so less water dries on sun-heated glass.
- Keep up with regular cleanings, so new deposits come off before they have time to bond to the surface.
Window film, tint, and specialty coatings need extra care. Mention them when you call and we’ll check the glass before choosing a method. If a treatment could damage a coating, we’ll tell you instead of risking it.
Hard Water Removal FAQ
Can hard water stains actually be removed, or do I need new windows?
It depends how long the deposits have been sitting. Light to moderate buildup can usually be restored to a clear finish. If minerals have etched into the glass, that damage is permanent. We assess your windows and tell you which category they fall into before quoting.
Is hard water removal included in standard window cleaning?
No. Standard cleaning removes dust, pollen, and everyday grime. Mineral buildup needs a different process and is quoted as a separate line item, because severity varies so much from window to window.
How do I know if my glass is etched?
We can tell on-site. Deposits sit on top of the glass and lift with the right process. Etching is damage in the glass itself and stays hazy or pitted afterward. We’ll show you which panes are which before any work starts.
